I don't reckon Chris Brogan gets ANYWHERE NEAR the recognition or attention he deserves.

Everyone knows Gary V, Tai Lopez, Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki et al... But there's a few other guys who deserve to be spoken about a lot more.

So, that's what I'm going to do.

I must start by saying that I bought this book by accident.

After drunkenly watching Curb Your Enthusiasm one evening, the episode withe the 'freak book', I must have gone on to amazon to try and find it.

Imagine my surprise when I saw the email notification the next day that a book entitled 'The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth' was going to be dispatched!

I immediately worked out what had happened, but with that title, I couldn't cancel the order... I had to at least TRY to read it.

So, I wanted to share the one big takeaway I got from the book... As your time is precious and I've had two glasses of wine.

DEFINE YOUR OWN VERSION OF SUCCESS

For some people, it's fast cars, big houses and fancy holidays...

But, I don't reckon it is for most.

I asked myself the question after reading this book, 'Has anything I have ever bought in my life REALLY given me the satisfaction that I expected it to?'.

I concluded that nothing had.

Nothing at all.

IF you realise this... And continue to want for and pursue material trappings, then that's surely foolish?

Asking this one question got me to really decide to own my life, the decisions I make and the habits that I form.

Habits make change, good or bad.

When I defined what success made for me, I took time to really think it through. I wrote it down and then re-read it days later. To see if it still held true.

What I had wrote down that day, I still remember now.

Nothing has changed.

I want to wake up in the morning, do what I feel like in the day. And go to bed at night.

Every single day.

I feel I am well over half way to reaching that goal.

From being in a position where Sunday nights were filled with anxiety and often dread, I think that the change has been rapid and remarkable.

There are dozens of lessons in this book.

I've only written about the one that stood out to me... I could've easily listed 3 or 4 more.

But I didn't, because like I mentioned above, wine.

So I will now bid you a good evening.

Buy the book if you like, or don't, that's fine too.
