The Verve are liars - The drugs DO work. Well, some of them, anyways.

You just have to know which are the right ones and how to use them.

One of my favourites is called coffee... Lot's of other people seem to like it too.

I bet you're one of those people, aren't you?

My point here is to show you how to get more out of your Coffee Experience (CX).

Enjoy A Mindful Morning Coffee

Every morning I make myself a posh (Aldi) cafetière of coffee... Probably enough for 2-3 people, but it's my body and I'll wreck it however I choose.

Drinking that first cup is one of my favourite parts of the day - It's just me and the coffee.

No phone. No distractions... Just my taste buds serenading the brown nectar - For 15-20 minutes I'm completely off the grid (on the couch) and nothing else matters.

For people who think they should meditate but struggle to let go, this is a great way of building up to it.

Just sit with your coffee and focus on as many senses as you can.

Smell it. Feel the warmth of the cup. Notice the steam rising off the surface.

There's so much to the CX (Coffee Experience) that we neglect to appreciate... And most of it has nothing to do with the taste.

Observe how you feel when you start drinking, and then how you feel once you've finished.

Take your time and cherish every single sip.

Before I started enjoying my morning coffee this way I often felt like I was rushing around, constantly trying to catch up.

Allow yourself to warm-up for the day, mentally. And take the time to enjoy one of life's simple pleasures - A soothing hot drink.

Start the day the right way. Start with drugs.
